After a few days of this blog being down (grrrrrrr) it seems to have been fixed, so welcome!
I will use this post just to collect some of the best of the news coverage from this year, which seems a bit more intense than it was last year. Not sure why, but here we are.
First is a story that will be seen by all the cognoscenti in Denver who read 5280. The by-the-numbers approach was a fresh, fun take and the illustration that Sean Parsons put together is much more provocative than we usually see:
Next was a great national piece that just had so many wonderful bits. I recommend viewing it here so you can see the transcript and if you do be sure to click to tell them that your local PBS station is PBS12 (if you live in Denver).
If you don’t want to click, here it is:
The behind-the-scenes story about that piece is that the reason they had the video of me in the park was that the back story is that I go there often to get photos to put on the blog. That’s true, too, I do that.
The morning the video guy came, however, it was gray and overcast, and not really great for taking photos. But the video guy was a pro, so he made it work. So he got shots of me from several angles taking pictures, and so one of them, necessarily, became a photo of him.
If I was a less ethical person, I would have had a headline reading: HERE’S WHAT PBS WON’T SHOW YOU, BUT I WILL!!!
And here is a great, concise video from Chicago:
And here is a fun podcast from Michigan.
